What do we do?

Physiotherapy is a health profession, with university education, and that has a great variety of specializations and potential. We focus our work on the treatment of pain in the musculoskeletal system, on the treatment of the main cause of this pain, on the prevention of future injuries. At this center we specialize above all in chronic pain, in understanding that pain, in appeasing that pain and in preventing it from getting worse as much as possible.  Do not hesitate to ask the physiotherapist what we can do for you , because the range of pathologies that are treated is very large and so far the success of recovery and pain reduction is very high. At the center we like to do mostly manual therapy, avoiding the use of machines as much as possible. The result is much longer lasting. We also have the philosophy that each patient will feel the same pathology differently depending on their personality, therefore, we are concerned with having a 100% individualized and person-focused session. The treatments usually last an hour and during that hour the only protagonist is the patient.

Prevention

Prevention is not something that is considered much nowadays. The patients who usually come come when they can't take the pain anymore, when they have been suffering from that pain for months. Well, prevention can avoid serious injuries, you can avoid chronic injuries, simply by going to the physiotherapist to explain or teach you exercises, to teach you ergonomic postures, to tell you how to put the computer and utensils in your work area. I work so you don't have “that usual back pain”. It can be considered as an investment: on an economic level because with good prevention you can avoid going back to the doctor or physiotherapist for a long period of time if you follow a correct guideline... and on a corporal level avoid pain that drags you for months and go worse. Better to go when those pains start and treat it from the root, and know how to handle it well.

Manual therapy

We will work with our hands to feel closer to that pain, those limitations, how the muscles are and how they are improving in each session. It will be done from soft and painless mobilizations to progressively increase the range of motion, to treatments  based on relaxing and stretching the muscles.

body awareness

Good body awareness is essential for good treatment. The part of the body that is affected tries to teach the basics of how it works, how far it can go and what can be done. From that, the generalities of the body are also taught and how to use another part of the body to replace the affected part. This helps to improve general movement and in the short term, to a decrease in pain.

Training

I recently read a phrase that stuck with me: "It is the primary function of physiotherapists to make the population understand that they should be more afraid of rest than of movement." Adequate exercises are essential for a good recovery. It takes discipline, work at home, perseverance, but I can assure you that the patients who have followed the established exercise guidelines have been very happy with the results. Not only does the pain decrease, but the range of motion will progressively increase. And if you are one of the patients who do not think you are going to do the exercises at home, you can always sign up for our classes, where we try to support each other and do it in a fun and entertaining way. Ask and try without obligation!
